Europe Calling “How can Europe’s green transition succeed?” – A European Citizens’ Dialogue with German Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck

11.April 18:00 - 19:00

Recording

Dear friends,

Today’s decisions will determine whether the transformation of the European economy and society towards climate neutrality will succeed within the next 20 years. These decisions determine the future competitiveness, good jobs and fair prosperity in Europe.

One thing is clear: In the last 5 years, the EU has made more progress than ever before with the decision for a European Green Deal – despite the pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

However, the EU as a whole and many of its member states are lagging behind their own targets when it comes to making concrete changes and implementing green technologies – from heat pumps and renewable energies to electric cars and climate-neutral industry.

In addition, resistance is now growing ahead of the European elections, including among citizens.

We are therefore delighted that Robert Habeck, the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, one of the key politicians steering the transformation, will be joining us for the Europe Calling webinar and engaging in dialogue with you. About the path to climate neutrality, the obstacles, detours and the role of justice.

Your questions to Robert Habeck will take centre stage. I will send the link to the collection of questions to all registered participants in advance.

Date: Thursday, 11 April 2024, 18:00 – 19:00 h CEST (Brussels/Berlin)

The webinar will be simultaneously translated into English.

Join us and invite others!

With European greetings,

Maximilian Fries and everyone at Europe Calling e.V.
