However, when it comes to European industrial policy, each member state usually does its own thing, often with a large dose of national subsidies.<\/p>\n<p><b>Initiatives for a truly European industrial policy, such as the \u2018Net Zero Industry Act\u2019 of the last EU Commission, are lagging far behind China&#8217;s investment programmes and the US Inflation Reduction Act. <\/b>The big money for Intel &amp; Co. to settle in the EU is invested by states in their own interest.
